Project Description

GD Construction were tasked with completing a refurbishment of the ceilings, lighting, flooring and decorations within Aston Ward at the Lister Hospital which is an occupied mental health ward. For our part of the works – the patients were removed from the ward however, all equipment and the like was anti ligature.

Challenges Overcome

1. The project had to start exceptionally early due to a separate ward issue with Legionella which gave GDC the opportunity to complete the works within a “non-live” environment. This presented the challenges of finalising quotations/lighting designs and getting the procurement completed on time.
    

2. Segregation from opposite Ward – barriers were placed with continuous communication between the ward and also other contractors.
