Project Description

 

A 8,400 sq ft Cat A redevelopment of a ground floor and basement car park for use in the medical life sciences sector. Full M&E installation, demolitions and structural alterations to infill old car lift and form new openings for passenger lift, staircase and skylight. New windows and doors to main building elevation. New insulated Garland specified roof. Intumescent coatings to ceiling slab to achieve 90 minute fire separation between floors and flats above. Insulated perimeter wall linings, roof and upgraded windows improved U values.

Challenges Overcome

 

Situated in a narrow mews with a low archway entrance logistics for deliveries had to be carefully considered.

 

Surrounded by residential properties including flats directly above, noisy works had to be monitored and manager. Drainage alterations also impacted the properties above. GD worked closely with the management team of the flats to keep the residents informed and minimise any disruption.
