Project Description

 

The project involved full strip out of the existing 3 storey building in a residential area of Notting Hill. This beautiful property completely reimagined by one of our favourite clients Architect Patrick Lewis. We have worked with Patrick for many years and on many projects. Patrick has a warm genuine personality that brings to life his visions through his unique style of design using details of light and unusual sustainable materials. The exceptional designs and finishes of each project we have worked on with Patrick are a true reflection of his clients’ visions brought to life before their eyes. It is true to say that whilst we build these dream homes Patricks clients are always a reflection of himself, warm, open and a pleasure to work with.

  • Construction of new basement across the entire footprint of the building- extremely tight site

  • Extensive temporary works design and installation

  • Full waterproof tanking system to the basement, inc installation of cast iron underground drainage system

  • Construction of new layout throughout the property

  • Full M&E Installation- UFH system throughout, new incoming Electrical, water and gas supplies

  • New ground floor extension created over the basement with large rooflight (crane over the building) and glazed external façade

  • New courtyard garden installation

  • Complete fit out throughout the property

  • Installation of new curved feature staircase and fluted wall panel behind the staircase for focal property feature.

  • New roof construction to ground floor extension and main roof

  • Full external repairs and redecoration

Challenges Overcome

 

  1. Structural works – large amount of temporary works to support existing building and to construct the new basement via underpins.
     

  2. Scaffold access design around construction of the basement and tight site.
     

  3. Deliveries- tight site, large deliveries, concrete pumps, crane lift- well managed traffic management & logistics plan.
