May 2010

Malawi High Commission - 36 John Street, Camden, London.

GD Secures new contract with new Client & Architect to refurbish Grade 2 Listed terraced building to form new offices/High Commission for Malawi High Commission. A £300k refurbishment to be completed in an 18 week contract period.

Northwick Park Phase 2 Completion & Project Update.

The remaining single storey new building is progressing successfully.

Phase 2 works completed to date:

1 - The construction a new building single storey extension to form a new Female secure inpatient facility.

2 - The refurbishment of the stripped out Management Suite (Ground Floor North Wing) to create the Male Secure inpatient facility.

3 - The isolated refurbishment works to the parts of the ADTU to create the new 136 suite, Regeneration of kitchen, Dining Room, patients laundry, lift refurbishment and replacement ventilation plant installation to the roof top plant room.

4 - External services and site works to the part of the secure courtyard area and construction of an external electrical sub-station.

April 2010

4 Bedroom Semi-detached Residential property in St Albans Hertfordshire completes on time and in Budget to Clients joy.

The property was extended to provide 4 Bedrooms, En-suite and family bathroom on first and second floors, and on the ground floor, two receptions and a Kitchen/Dining/Family room with bi-folding doors opening into the garden, with a further Utility and Cloakroom. To the rear of the property is a 100’ Garden which was landscaped with a large patio area and to the front a new brick block driveway was created to provide off street parking for several vehicles.

Park Royal Centre.

GD Construction wins second project at Park Royal Centre for the Environmental upgrade works of Pine and Pond wards. Works to be carried out in 3 phases with an overall project duration of 10 weeks.

Works comprising of:

• Demolition works,
• Alterations to building layout & rooms,
• Complete refurbishment of floor, ceilings and wall finishes,
• New Electrical Installations & Emergency lighting to complete wards,
• Installation of new ventilation system,
• Alterations to services plumbing & heating,
• Fire Alarm system additions and modifications,
• Staff Attack and Nurse Call system additions and modifications.

GD Construction Successfully secures work at Park Royal Centre for the Refurbishment of Java House works to be carried out in 1 phase with a project duration of 8 weeks.

A Complete building refurbishment comprising of:

G D Construction achieves SAFEcontractors & Considerate Constructors accreditation in recognition of reaching the SAFEcontractor health and safety standards.

GD Construction Secures £4.2 million contract at Northwick Park Mental Health Unit after successfully completing phase 1.

Kevin Hull, Managing Director expresses his delight in securing work through to 2011.  

After successfully completing phase 1, GD have secured the following three phases in a £4.2million contract for the Reprovision of Northwick Park Mental Health Unit.

Following an OJEU application, GD was shortlisted onto the tender list for Phases 2, 3 and 4. GD were selected as the preferred contractor after presenting a tender submission document incorporating competitive cost, management control, project team, awareness, culture and experience.

The contract involves the refurbishment of three wards and two new build extensions over a 15 month period seeing works into 2011. The works are to provide new mental health facilities within the existing occupied unit.

Works Comprise of:

• Demolition,
• Excavations,
• Reinforced concrete,
• New Build,
• Refurbishment Works,
• Mechanical and Electrical Services.

Phase 2 – 4 Ground works commence.

Stoke Mandeville Hospital - the provision of additional office areas for spinal aid charity £100k over a period of 6 weeks.

CSU Watford - remodel internal areas for client’s wellbeing, £150k over a period of 12 weeks.

Victoria Medical Centre - project to incorporate dispensing pharmacy within the existing medical centre £35k over a period of 6 weeks.

11 Flower Lane - Eco Friendly Detached Residence
Ready for the Market.

A new build eco friendly high specification and quality detached house for Barget Developments. Completed early August in 32 weeks with a contract value £450k.

This was completed on time and we worked with the client as part of the development team to ensure costs stayed within budget.

Kingswood House - Time for a Swim?

A new swimming pool and pavilion for a private client was completed in late July 2009, built to complex design parameters with great attention to detail to provide a very high level finish. Contract value was £547k.

Schools Out - St Edwards & Clockhouse School.

GD Construction have completed work on two schools in Romford to be carried out during the summer holidays. The work involved replacement ceilings, classroom refurbishments and swimming pool area refurbishments. The works had to be carried out in 5 weeks for a total cost of £150k.
